2. Information We Collect
We collect personal data in the following ways:
- ▪ Contact form (contact.html): full name, phone number, email address, the service you're enquiring about, and any message you send us.
- ▪ Phone, WhatsApp or in-person enquiries: whatever details you choose to give us, e.g. name and phone number, so we can process your order or call you back.
- ▪ Automatically, via embedded third-party services: when a page containing a Google Maps embed or our live Google Reviews widget loads, Google may set cookies or collect technical data (such as your IP address) as described in Section 6.
We do not knowingly collect any special category data (e.g. health, religion) or payment card details through this website.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:
- ▪ Respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form, by phone or by WhatsApp;
- ▪ Provide quotes and arrange laundry, service wash, dry cleaning or ironing services you request;
- ▪ Keep records for accounting and legal compliance purposes;
- ▪ Improve our services and this website.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
- ▪ Consent: when you voluntarily submit the contact form or message us directly.
- ▪ Legitimate interests: to respond to your enquiry and operate our business efficiently, in a way that does not override your rights.
- ▪ Legal obligation: where we must keep certain records (e.g. for tax purposes).
5. Sharing Your Information
We use the following third-party processors, who only process your data on our instructions:
- ▪ Formspree, Inc.: processes messages submitted via our contact form and delivers them to our inbox.
- ▪ Google LLC: provides the embedded map on our Contact and About pages, and (where enabled) powers the live display of our Google Reviews via the Google Maps/Places API.
We do not otherwise sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Cookies & Third-Party Embeds
This website does not itself set tracking or advertising cookies. However, Google Maps and our live Google Reviews widget set third-party cookies and collect technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) once enabled, governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Neither loads until you accept cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, or by clicking to load a map manually. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website, which will show the banner again.
7. International Transfers
Formspree and Google may process data on servers located outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent UK-recognised transfer mechanism) to ensure your data remains protected to UK standards.
8. Data Retention
We keep enquiry and customer contact data only for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry or provide the service requested, and afterwards for as long as required by our accounting and legal obligations, typically no longer than 6 years.
9. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- ▪ Access the personal data we hold about you;
- ▪ Ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ▪ Ask us to erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
- ▪ Restrict or object to our processing of your data;
- ▪ Request a portable copy of your data;
- ▪ Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our legal basis.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@harlesden-laundry.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
10. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date.
