1. Who We Are

Laundrette & Dry Cleaner is a sole trader business, not a registered company, and is not VAT registered. Prices shown on this website and in-store are therefore not subject to VAT.

By using our services, whether by dropping off items in person, by phone, by WhatsApp or via our website, you agree to these terms.

2. Our Services

We provide self-service laundry, service wash (wash, dry & fold), dry cleaning, ironing, and duvet, blanket and curtain cleaning at our premises on St. John's Avenue. Full details are on our Services page.

3. Prices & Payment

Prices are confirmed in-store or by phone before we begin work. The exact price depends on load size, fabric type and condition. Payment is due at drop-off or on collection, by cash or card, unless otherwise agreed. As a non-VAT-registered sole trader, no VAT is added to our prices.

4. Drop-Off & Collection

Please check pockets and remove any valuables, cash or personal items before handing over your laundry. We cannot be held responsible for items left inside garments. Estimated collection times (including any "same-day" turnaround) are estimates, not guarantees, and may vary with how busy we are.

5. Uncollected Items

Please collect your items within a reasonable time, and no later than [90] days after the agreed collection date. If items remain uncollected beyond this period, we will attempt to contact you using the details you provided. If we're unable to reach you or items remain uncollected, we may dispose of, donate or sell the items to recover our costs, in accordance with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977. We recommend collecting items promptly to avoid this.

6. Care & Liability

We treat every item with care and use professional cleaning methods appropriate to the fabric and garment. However, some fabrics, trims, embellishments, colours or pre-existing damage carry an inherent risk of change during cleaning that is beyond our control, and we will let you know of any such risk where it is apparent before we begin.

In the unlikely event that an item is lost or damaged while in our care due to our negligence, our liability is limited to a fair valuation of the item, taking into account its age, condition and any depreciation, and will not exceed [10] times the cost of cleaning that item, in line with standard industry practice. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else which cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.

We recommend not bringing in irreplaceable or sentimental items, or letting us know in advance so we can take extra care or advise against cleaning if there's a risk.

7. Cancellations

You may cancel a service at any time before we begin work on your items, free of charge. Once we have begun washing, dry cleaning or ironing an item at your request, it is not usually possible to cancel that item's service, as work has already started. This reflects the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, under which services carried out at your request do not carry a cancellation right once performance has begun.

8. Complaints

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. The terms in force at the time you drop off an item will apply to that service.

Any personal data you give us is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
